Category A – Sources (Back to top)
Information relating to persons providing or having provided information or assistance in confidence. The following are examples of the type of material that would fall within this category:
- Information regarding or tending to confirm the status of any individual working with UKIC/PSNI/CTP and partner agencies that is not a member of staff;
- Information that could lead to the identification/compromise of such individuals;
- Information regarding the receipt, existence and use of information or assistance provided in confidence by such individuals;
- Information relating to David Rupert, Kevin Fulton.
Category B – Operations, Capabilities and Methodology (Back to top)
Information relating to sensitive activities, intelligence intentions, interests, investigations, operations, plans or targets of UKIC/PSNI/CTP or partner agencies. It will also include information relating to sensitive capabilities, methods, techniques used by UKIC/PSNI/CTP or partner agencies. The following are examples of the type of material that would fall within this category:
- Targets of operations (whether undertaken or not);
- Information about or plans for operations;
- Intelligence or information derived from such operations;
- Operational/investigative methodology and tradecraft;
- Member of Public (MOP) methodology;
- Information pertaining to and about the organisation or roles of MOD Specialist Military Units.
Category C – Information useful to hostile actors and criminal methodology (Back to top)
The following are examples of the type of material that would fall within this category:
- Information pertaining to and about the organisation or roles within UKIC/PSNI/CTP and other agencies;
- Details of how these entities engage with the wider HMG apparatus;
- National Infrastructure;
- Sensitive information relating to UKIC/CTP/PSNI and other agency estate
- Sensitive features of UKIC/PSNI/CTP and other agency documents such as codenames and security classifications;
- Investigative and other techniques;
- Information pertaining to the manufacture and deployment of improvised explosive devices or other weapons;
- Information relating to protective security.
Category D – Intra-UK agency relationships, Liaison Relationships and International Relations (Back to top)
The following are examples of the type of material that would fall within this category:
- Information pertaining to external organisations and information about their relationships with UKIC/PSNI/CTP;
- Cross-HMG/PSNI/CTP collaboration;
- Information pertaining to liaison relationships with Foreign Governments and services;
- To protect relations with other States.
