Omagh Bombing Inquiry launches process for contributing to commemorative hearings

The Chairman of the Omagh Bombing Inquiry has today launched the process for contributing to the Commemorative and Personal Statement Hearings.

The hearings will take place on 27th January for approximately three to four weeks in the Strule Arts Centre in Omagh.

The Commemorative and Personal Statement Hearings will play a key role in the inquiry. They will allow the Chairman to receive written statements and to hear evidence directly from those most affected by the bombing. It is a voluntary process.  It will ensure the families of the bereaved, those who were injured and the community of Omagh can share their experiences.

You can read more on how to contribute to the Commemorative and Personal Statement Hearing in the Commemorative Hearing Protocol available here and the template to express your interest in contributing is available here. There are also more details on what the Commemorative and Personal Statement Hearing entails and the wider process in the accompanying explainer document
