Omagh Bombing Inquiry Preliminary Hearing 30 July: Attendance Information
Background
The Omagh Bombing Inquiry will host its first public hearing in the Strule Arts Centre on the 30 July. The hearing will commence at 1000am and conclude no later than 400pm.
The preliminary hearing is one of first steps in a public inquiry. It allows the Chairman to consider procedural issues relating to the conduct of future public hearings and the Inquiry’s investigation.
No witnesses will be called and no evidence will be presented at the preliminary hearing.

Attendance
The hearing is open to any members of the public who wish to attend. However, please note there is limited capacity in the hearing room and priority will be given to bereaved families and others directly affected by the bombing. The hearing room will close once it reaches capacity.
The hearing will be broadcast live on the Inquiry’s YouTube Channel. It is therefore not necessary to be in the hearing room to follow proceedings.
Support
The inquiry is working with WAVE Trauma to provide support to anyone who requires it during the hearing. Counsellors will be available inside the Arts Centre to provide any support required during the hearing. You can read on support services on the Inquiry Website.
Overflow
The Omagh WAVE Trauma Centre will be broadcasting the hearing at its Omagh centre. Anyone who wishes to watch and is unable to access the earing centre can travel to the WAVE Trauma Centre, Holmlea House, 2 Retreat Close, Omagh, BT79 0HW.

Getting there
Members of the public who wish to attend the hearing are asked to enter the Arts Centre by Ground Level Riverside entrance marked on the below map and make your way to the Omagh Bombing Inquiry Reception Desk inside the building. The welcome desk will be open from 930.
There are no parking facilities at the Strule Arts Centre. Members of the public are requested to park in the car parks in the town.
Restrictions
- No filming will be allowed inside the Arts Centre.
- Recording of activities inside the hearing room is strictly prohibited.
- Live posting of activities in the hearing room is strictly prohibited.
