Omagh Bombing Inquiry to hold first preliminary hearing in July 2024

The independent statutory public inquiry into the Omagh Bombing has today confirmed that it will hold a preliminary hearing in the Strule Arts Centre in Omagh on Tuesday 30 July.

This is the first hearing to be held by the Inquiry.

A preliminary hearing is one of the first steps in a public inquiry. It is a legal hearing to consider procedural issues relating to the conduct of the Inquiry’s investigation and hearings.

The hearing will be live streamed for those who wish to watch the proceedings online.

The preliminary hearing will be chaired by the Omagh Bombing Inquiry’s Chairman, Lord Turnbull. Counsel to the Inquiry is Paul Greaney KC.
